How the feed works
TrueSay has two feeds: For You (ranked) and Following (chronological). Here's what goes into the ranking and how to switch.
What it is
TrueSay has two feeds. For You is ranked: we mix in posts you'll likely care about based on who you follow, what you've engaged with, and signals like community notes and the heat indicator. Following is chronological — newest first, no ranking.
How to use it
Tap the For You / Following toggle at the top of Home. The toggle remembers your last choice on each device.
Long-press any post in For You to see why it was ranked: who reposted it, the topics it matches, and the freshness window. Tap Show fewer like this to nudge the algorithm.
For deeper control, open Feed → Recipes in the sidebar. That's the algorithm tuner — see the recipes article for the details.
Why it matters
We don't optimize the feed for "time spent" — that metric is what breaks every other social app. We optimize for "did the post earn its place," which means freshness, signal, and not-from-known-bots all weigh more than raw engagement. Honestly, it makes the feed quieter. That's the point.
