Export your data
Download a ZIP of your posts, comments, DMs, follows, and saved items. Takes a few minutes; we email you when it's ready.
What it is
A data export is a ZIP of everything we have that's about you: your posts, comments, DMs, follows, blocks, saved items, profile metadata, and login history. We email you a download link when it's ready — usually a few minutes, sometimes longer if your account is older.
How to use it
Open Settings → Privacy → Export data. Pick which categories you want (default is all). Tap Request export.
We email you when the ZIP is ready. The link is signed and expires in 7 days — refresh from the same screen if you miss the window.
Unzip locally. Inside you'll find folders per category, with JSON
files for structured data (posts, follows) and original media in their
original formats. There's a README.md at the root explaining the
layout.
Why it matters
If we have it, you should be able to take it home. The export covers GDPR/CCPA right-to-portability requirements, but it's also just decent practice — your stuff is your stuff. We picked JSON-with-media over a proprietary format because JSON is forever-readable and your future self will thank you.
